Maya Luz is a Miami-based multidisciplinary artist whose work delves into the unsettling terrain of female adolescence. Her creative practice spans film, photography, writing and other forms of mixed media, drawing deeply from the dark and transformative aspects of coming of age as a girl. Inspired by classic horror tropes, Maya's art probes themes of identity and fear, offering a unique and evocative perspective.
Her work has been showcased at the Bass Museum, and she has gained experience as a Gallery Assistant at Oolite Arts. Maya has also received multiple Scholastics Art and Writing Awards, recognizing her artistic achievements. Currently, she is pursuing a Global BFA in Film Art through a dual degree program at Emerson College and Paris College of Art, further expanding her artistic horizons.
